I like GM - Give me some!

I've thought long and hard about this business, and altogether, I think it's a good thing.

Firstly, crops that are resistant to disease surely are beneficial to the world, as there will be lots of food for all. Granted, we'll all get cancer and die horribly, but hey, as the Americans say, what's wrong with adding a little spice to life.

Secondly, just think how far all this wonderful technology can go. Today, vegetables, tomorrow, animals..even humans.

For instance, they could design food that, when digested, comes out the other end of the alimentary canal smelling just the same as it went in. No longer would we have to suffer noxious odors coming from our loved ones,

when they are "seeing a friend of to the coast" in the "smallest room", how about the smell of baking bread wafting from the loo. Delicious!

Irritating behavior of certain animals do could be adjusted to suit our needs. Dogs that bark silently, birds that can defecate only when on the ground, toothless sharks, are just some of the wonderful ideas that come to mind. Hyenas be genetically modified so they really did laugh - good for people suffering from depression. Also they'd be good for canned laughter in sitcoms - very cheap.

Another example - the lion could indeed lie down with the

lamb, to produce the cutest, cuddliest living fluffy toys. Larry the lambion - a perfect xmas present for kiddies.

Cows could be genetically adjusted make them more efficient. All the unnecessary thing like eyes, ears, legs,

tail, could be done away with. All that's needed is a mouth to chew, stomachs and one giant udder, about the size of a balloon - much more productive and aesthetically pleasing. All this would naturally lead to the ultimate goal - the perfect human. The dream of the song "melting pot" could finally be realised :-

Take a pinch of white man

Wrap him up in black skin

Add a touch of blue (yes!) blood

And a little bitty bit of red Indian boy.

Oh like a curly latin kinkies

Oh Lordy, Lordy, mixed with yellow chinkees, yeah

You know you lump it all together

And you got a recipe for a get along scene

Oh what a beautiful dream

If it could only come true, you know, you know

The futures bright!

People who make this country a crappier place

All these years we've fought against intolerance, in the hope of creating a more intelligent and cultured country....... and it's these bullies who seem to have the biggest influence:-

Simon Cowell, Kelvin MacKenzie, Richard Littlejohn, Jeremy Clarkson, Pete Waterman, "Dr" Fox, Jon Gaunt, Gordon Ramsey, Alan Sugar, Rupert Murdoch, Piers Morgan, Max Clifford et al.

Where will it all end?

Simony!

Simony: buying or selling of something spiritual or closely connected with the spiritual.

Somehow the name Simon seems to be connected with crap in the music biz, a bit like flies around a turd. Simons Cowell and Fuller, our current cultural leaders, Le Bon who gave us "you're about as easy as a nuclear war", Paul Simon the great and highly original English/Jamaican/South African folk songwriter, Simon Webbe, late the the supergroup Blue, no worries etc...

As far as I know there were no Simons connected with....for instance, Tamla Motown, Stax, or Reggae. There was no Simon in the Beatles, Sex Pistols, Nirvana or White Stripes. Thank god Nina Simone had the extra "e".

......OK, there's Carly and Joe, but that's it.
